JKBOSE: Big Update Regarding Declaration Of Class 8th Result in Jammu, Kashmir divisions: Principal Secy SED

JKBOSE Big Update Regarding Declaration Of Class 8th Result in Jammu, Kashmir divisions: Principal Secy SED

Srinagar: The Department of Education (SED) has made a decision to announce the results of the 8th grade examination at the same time for all schools in Kashmir and Jammu.

This decision was made due to the delay in announcing the results in soft zone areas, despite the completion of the examination about a month ago.

Principal Secretary (SED) Alok Kumar, in a conversation with Greater Kashmir, mentioned that the announcement of the 8th grade examination results would take place simultaneously in both Kashmir and Jammu divisions.

Kumar further stated that since the examination is still ongoing in Jammu, they will wait for its completion and declare the results for both divisions at the same time. He also noted that the adoption of a Uniform Academic Calendar requires the results to be announced on the same day.

The Term II examination for 8th grade students started on February 27 and ended on March 10 in the soft zone areas of Kashmir and Jammu division. The examination in hard zone areas started on March 24 and is scheduled to end on April 8. Parents of students in the soft zone areas have been requesting the announcement of their children’s results as their exams were completed in early March.

Class 8th Result

According to an official at SCERT Kashmir, the results for the soft zone areas were compiled on March 20, but the announcement was pending until they received official confirmation. The delay in the announcement of results has resulted in students being idle, as there is no classwork in schools for 9th-grade students until the announcement of the results. The official also highlighted that everyone is eagerly waiting for the results to be announced.

Even though the new academic session for junior classes began almost two weeks ago, students in government schools are still without textbooks. However, in response to the report, the J&K Board of School Education (BOSE) has now released a schedule for the distribution of textbooks to schools.

The JKBOSE notification states that the process for the distribution of books is scheduled to begin from April 5. However, the distribution of uniforms to students in government schools up to the elementary level is yet to commence.
