Kashmir Schools to Observe 10-Day Summer Break from July 1: Edu Minister Itoo

Srinagar : Amid soaring temperatures across the Kashmir division, the Education Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Sakina Itoo, has officially announced a 10-day summer vacation for all government and private schools. The break will begin on July 1 and continue until July 10.

The announcement was made in light of the persistent heatwave affecting the region, with a possibility of the vacation being extended if the weather conditions do not improve.

In addition to the summer break, new school timings have been issued, effective from this Saturday:

🏙 Srinagar City Limits: 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM
🌄 Outside City Limits: 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM

These revised timings aim to protect students and staff from the harsh midday heat.

The Education Department has stated that it will continue to monitor the weather and may consider extending the vacation beyond July 10 if the heatwave persists.
